Jovanović Attends Inauguration of Council of Europe Office to the United Nations in New York

The State Secretary at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Serbia Nevena Jovanović attended the official inauguration of the Council of Europe Office to the United Nations in New York.

On this occasion, Jovanović met with Secretary General of the Council of Europe Alain Berset. During their meeting, she reaffirmed the Republic of Serbia’s commitment to the values and principles of the Council of Europe and to further strengthening cooperation with the Organisation.

It was underscored that the establishment of the Council of Europe Office to the United Nations represents an important step towards strengthening the Organisation’s presence in New York and enhancing its cooperation with the United Nations and other international organisations.

Jovanović emphasised the importance of Serbia’s continued cooperation with the Council of Europe and highlighted the Organisation’s role in supporting the protection of human rights, strengthening institutions and promoting the rule of law.
